We usually think of waiting as a passive exercise, just biding time until we get the thing that we're waiting for. We must learn to practice the active kind of waiting. It's a faith journey, the waiting of pilgrimage. To wait is to journey in faith towards the things that we had promised.
Like all journeys, it has its past, present and future; and requires a definite attitude towards each of these time dimensions.
I'm here actively waiting to reach you...
